Rick & Aimee Demaret
AGE - 45, 46
CITY - Vancouver, WA
DISCIPLINE/s - we ride both a tandem and single bikes on long distance/century rides, local time trials, & spins around the countryside
QUOTE/BLURB/FACT - In our spare time, we grow grapes and make enough wine to keep us happy, ski whenever we can during the winter, and enjoy watching our three kids grow into wonderful adults. Rick is in sales, Aimee teaches fourth grade. Our greatest thrill is to see how fast we can fly down hills. To date, our top speed was close to 50 mph before Aimee politely (but effectively) requested the use of brakes.
FAVORITE FOOD- Pizza & sushi (Rick), anything Italian (Aimee)
SONG THAT GETS YOU PUMPED BEFORE A RIDE - Tupac says Rick
FAVORITE FLAVOR OF VISO - Will, because it quenches, has caffeine, and tastes great! |

Casey Storey
AGE - 31
CITY - Portland
DISCIPLINE/S - Century rides, commuting, single speed mountain bike racing, and cyclocross
QUOTE/BLURB/FACT - I prefer to run on biscuit power instead of gasoline. I enjoy using old parts on new bikes and love the simplicity and durability of single speeds, thumb shifters when gears are needed, and steal frames. I built my own bike frame a couple of years ago and have managed to turn it into a single speed mountain bike, a cyclocross bike, and a geared mountain bike. I have raced this bike in each category.
FAVORITE FOOD - I love all food - so this is pretty hard. My favorites are pasta puttanesca (cooked by my wife), mochi (a Japanese pastry), Carolina barbecue, chile relleno, aged gouda, Oregon strawberries, fresh figs, and green chili.
SONG THAT GETS YOU PUMPED - Any early 70's Grateful Dead with strong Phil Lesh bass
FAVORITE FLAVOR OF VISO - definitely Strawkey |
